Update and News / 13 May 2017
As this website hasn't been updated for several years now, it will shortly be replaced by a brand new page designed by one of Michala's fans, and endorsed by her. In the meantime, you can consult Michala's profile on her agent's website for up-to-date information.
A trailer for The Colours of Home, a short film starring Michala and Sweeney Young, is available on YouTube. Many thanks to Edward for drawing my attention to this film!
I have updated the filmography, but will hold off making any major changes to the website until I do a complete overhaul - hopefully by the end of October.
Exciting news: The Gibson Group have now officially confirmed that Mirror Mirror has been released on DVD in New Zealand and can be ordered from both Arovideo and ScreenLine. The Australian release is planned for July 2009. To celebrate the event, I have created a Mirror Mirror Facebook Page - let's see if we can get at least a dozen people (and perhaps some of the actors?) to join!
As Michala is about to make her Neighbours debut as Libby on Tuesday, we have added an article from Perth Now and an interview from TV Week. A *huge* thanks to Carly, contributor to NeighboursFans.com, for the transcript and scans of the TV Week article.
In bizarre - but interesting - news, it has been announced that Michala would be replacing Kym Valentine as Libby Kennedy on Neighbours for a month, while Kym recovers from pneumonia. Details are available in the following articles: 'Michala Banas fills in for sick Kym Valentine' (Courier Mail) and 'Kym Valentine takes a break from Neighbours' (Herald Sun).
We have added a new article, published in today's Sydney Morning Herald, in which Michala discusses her time on McLeod's Daughters.
The links section has also been updated.
As some of you may already know, Michala has decided to leave McLeod's Daughters. You can read the details in this article.
We have added two short articles at the bottom of the articles section.
Also, don't forget that the sixth season of McLeod's Daughters and the first season of Always Greener have now been released on DVD.
We have added an article published in the Advertiser on 3 February 2007.
Some good news: Always Greener, the channel 7 show in which Michala starred from 2001 to 2003, will be released on DVD in Australia in March!
We have added photos taken at an event called "Celebrities & Wives Watch The Ashe Test Series", which Michala attended in Sydney on 2 January, and screencaptures from her appearance on "Family Feud" in November 2006 (made by Zuzka; a video is also coming soon). All pictures can be found in the gallery.
We have also added a new article published in Adelaide Now a few days ago.
Happy 2007, and welcome to the new version of the Michala Banas Website, now at michalabanas.net! This webpage has been online for over five years now, so we thought it was time for a bit of a change.
I say "we" instead of the usual "I" because this revamp would not have been possible without Zuzka from Slovakia. She recently contacted me to offer her help with the website and, needless to say, I am extremely grateful to her for all the hard work she has put into the new design. As of today, Zuzka and I will be co-webmistresses of this site. :-)
The entire content of the old website has of course been integrated into this new version, but the picture gallery has also been considerably extended (all credit to Zuzka again) – be sure to check it out.
As you may know, Michala has been pretty busy lately. Besides being a regular on McLeod's Daughters, she took part in the Nine Network show Abbamania in November, where she sang a duet with her McLeod's Daughters co-star Luke Jacobz. At the end of November, she and her family also participated in the game show Family Feud hosted by Bert Newton on Nine.
Hopefully more news will be coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy your visit!
