Testing time for starlet Michala
Adelaide Now, 19 October 2006
McLEOD'S Daughters starlet Michala Banas loves a good game of cricket.
"I played cricket on family picnics with my brothers, family and
friends," she says.
"I wasn't very good though. I'm a better observer than player."
But her lack of co-ordination won't stop her getting involved with the Ashes series.
In fact, she's going to be the Adelaide Ambassador for the Adelaide
Test on December 3, and indulge in the "Ladies Love Cricket Day"
entertainment at Adelaide Oval. There will even be a cricket themed
"green" carpet entrance.
"I haven't been to a game in a while so it will be great to get along
to the Ashes series," Michala says. "Growing up, I went to a few games
with my dad . . . I love the one-dayers. They're always exciting."
To mark her support, Cricket Australia has even decked out Michala in
one of the Countdown shirts that have been given to other
high-profilers, including Prime Minister John Howard.
