"There are only so many ways you can say no," she said. "Perhaps it is because I'm single and he is single.
"I'm 28, and he is 24, so he is like my little brother.
"He lives down the road and we have lunch together, but I mean I also had lunch with Brett Tucker the other day and that doesn't mean we are together."
The actor/singer has been on the South Australian-made show for two years and doesn't look like leaving yet.
She released one single, Kissin' the Wind, in 1993 on Velocity, and had an album ready to go before the independent label folded.
Banas still writes songs, but won't release any more while she is still on McLeod's Daughters.
"I couldn't do it while working on the show," she said.
Banas said she was in a different position to that of either Ramsay St star Stephanie McIntosh or Delta Goodrem, when she was on Neighbours.
"They have a main cast of 25 and we have a cast of four, and I'm one of them," Banas said.
